The Mission of ACE is to provide a day centre where adults with autism can continue to grow and develop skills throughout their adult life to reach their full potential supported by highly trained staff. The mission is to believe in all and presume competence.

The ultimate aim is to support the young people to become:

Independent – in life skills

Active – in everyday activities

Motivated – to continue to develop skills in communication and socialization

Vocational – within the community and within their abilities

We want our young people to continue to have skills to develop Emotionally, Socially, Behaviourally, and Vocationally to Live Successful and Happy Lives.

Our values

The values underpin everything that we do and relate to the Young People that come to the setting as well as staff.

Transparency and an open culture

We believe in being open and transparent within all aspects of our work.

This means we relate to people in a way that is authentic and true. It means being respectful to all. At ACE, we do our best to be transparent in the way we do business.

Person – centred

We will follow person–centred planning and tailor our provision in response to the individual needs and desires of the individual. The young people attending will be a central part of the process ensuring they are included in the creation of any plan which will affect them.

We believe the way in which people communicate should always be respected. For those who do not communicate verbally, it is vital to prepare support for their preferred method ahead of a planning session.

ACE is all about creating better connections and having a relationship built on trust, between the young people and staff. Trust helps us all works better together.

Open and honest communication

We believe in reflecting and sharing problems and concerns.  Everyone’s view is as important as the next, and all are listened to and heard.

We want to make a difference because we care about our young people and their quality of life.

We pride ourselves on ensuring everyone is appreciated for their commitment and hard work.

Honesty, simplicity, and doing something you believe has real value

We work only for what we believe is right for the individual and family we are working with to ensure that they are able to achieve their maximum potential.

We aim to ensure that standards and practice are consistent and that staff are committed in their approach

We presume competence in all and believe that if we promote this we can help make a difference to many individuals and families to have a voice.
